THE CHOICE IS YOURS

How about this for a philosophy of life? I picked it up from a newspaper column.
  • Don't look. You might see.
  • Don't listen. You might hear.
  • Don't think. You might learn.
  • Don't make a decision. You might be wrong.
  • Don't walk. You might stumble.
  • Don't run. You might fall.
  • Don't live. You might die.
  • Don't try. You might fail.
A humorously silly way to face life? Surely! But how about those people who foolishly say, "I'll take my chances," when you face them with the truth of an eternity in Hell or Heaven. that too appears to be a dangerous philosophy to live by. These same people are not hesitant to plan their education, plan their life's work, plan their retirement, etc. But plan for eternity? This they are willing to deal with by CHANCE.

The Bible declares that one's eternal destination is not settled by CHANCE, it is a matter of personal CHOICE. It also declares that this choice concerns itself with a person - Jesus Christ. In plain, simple language the writer of Scripture declares:

"He that has the Son has life, and he that has not the Son of God has not life." - I John 5:12

Jesus Christ stated that there was no way for sinful man to approach a Holy God other than by himself.

"Jesus said unto him, I am the way, (note it says "THE" not "A" way) the truth, and the life. No man comes unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6

Peter explains to us what Jesus accomplished in order to make this approach to the Father possible:

"For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the fleah, but quickened (made alive) by the Spirit." - I Peter 3:18

Man's separation from God is a Bible fact which must be believed. You may be ever so religious, even "FEEL close to God" as some folk say. You may be a faithful church goer, be active in some capacity in a recognized Christian work. The fact is, if you have never personally invited Jesus into your heart and life by faith, you are still separated from God and religious but, lost.

Isaiah speaks of this separation as the result of personal sin.

"Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." - Isa 59:2

Since YOUR sin shows you to be under this condemnation, you need a divinely acceptable mediator. God declares there is but one so appointed.

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." - I Tim 3:5-6

Scripture makes it crystal clear - Jesus Christ is not one way to approach God, he is the only way by which man can approach God.

"Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12

No my friend, the philosophy of CHANCE is a deadly game of life and death. The stakes are too high to be so foolish with your soul. The man who lives and dies by chance will most surely lose in death. Eternal life depends on YOU making an intelligent, Biblical personal choice concerning Jesus Christ NOW.

"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold NOW is the day of salvation." - II Cor 6:2

Today you are invited by God himself to make the right CHOICE  about your eternal destination.

"I have set before you the WAY of LIFE and the way of death." Jer 21:8

"Therefore choose life (Christ) that you may live ... for He is your life." - Deut 30:19-20
